I would like to share the latest Book was launched by our Society –
GenealogiaRS – here in Brazil:
– *Colonizadores do Rio Grande do Sul: 1863-1873* (Colonists in Rio
Grande do Sul:1863-1873);
– It brings information about the *immigrants arrived in RS-Brazil from
1863 to 1873*;
– About *90%* were *german-speaking immigrants*;
– Germany (or German Empire) was getting unified in that decade, so
there is also an article highlighting this history;
– The book was launched last August 2021 – so also celebrating 150 years
of *“German Empire“ (1871-2021)*;
– This book is also our effort in contributing to the *200th
Anniversary* *of German
Immigration in Brazil to be celebrated in 2024*;
– The book is mostly written in *Portuguese*, but there are conventions
explaining *how to read immigrants‘ data in „English“ or „Deutsch“*.
Enclosed follows a PDF presentation:
– giving an overview about this book;
– and how to get it (*PDF/hardcopy*), if you are interested;
– It also contains the *Surnames index*, so you can search for any
(CRTL+F).
